4th Quarter Self-Reflection

Written on May 29, 2010 – 9:22 pm | by llama320

Okay people today is not a usual book review post but we have to post a reflection on why we are usuing blogs instead of the usual method of writing adn other questions. Sorry if you were expecting a book review but here we go.

I have found that many people in my class and around the world love to blog abotu many topics, books, movies, books turned into movies, and many, many more. I think that there are many reasons to why Ms. Rumford chose to do blogging instead of a more tradtional writing activity. I would think that the purpose of blogging instead of more traditional writing activities would be because we would have a much broader audience. Seeing that it was posted on the internet and many people all over the world have access to the internet we would be able to be criticized by others than our peers. We would also have to be respectful to other religions and opinions of many other people we probably wouldn’t know at all. Another reason would be that we are able to get access to others work much easier and criticize their work easier as well.  We are also able to compare our work to theirs and see what they are excelling in and what we could improve and vice versa. Although it might not be the purpose I liked the fact of knowing where people who were visiting my blog are from. I would be able monitor how worldwide my blog is and the fact that I have a visit from every continent except for Antarctica.

I think I have accomplished a fair amount of things and am very excited on continuing this later in life! Well some things that I have accomplished would be the fact that I have gotten better at expressing my own opinion. We all have opinions and we all need to express some way, somehow and I think that the blog was my way. Some times when I was angry and had a blog due I would channel it through to the post though trying not to make it too obvious who it was about. I was looking at some of my classmates posts today and I saw that some of them also did the same as well. Well I have to admit that it feels good not to be the only one who a strong emotion into their work. Something else that I thought I accomplished is that I can now say that I know how to work a blog. It’s true because before this all I knew how to work was my Facebook, hotmail, and the online games, which I am not too proud of.

Some key concepts which I learned while blogging is taking in the fact that people all over the world are looking at this. That fact needs to be done and kept in mind to make a blog successful and enjoyable. If you look at my beginning blog I don’t include a lot of opinion. But as I progress I make my stand as a blogger and make sure that I can include my own opinion while not putting any offence to others around the world. I think that now I have a better ability to do research not only on the internet but also, because I am doing books, in the book itself. What I will do, is that while reading the book I will place Sticky Notes on the parts I find funny or worth mentioning. I will then go back and go through and choose which few I will be in my post for you all to read. I also find it very useful allowing my friends to read and see how they think the book is …I could use that on my next blog!

I think the fact that Ms. Rumford had has do required work in our blogs such as word count, word choice, linking, and embedding tasks were simple. They were easy to do and to learn because for word count at the beginning of the year it was 200-400 words so it was not too hard. As we progressed through the year and I learned many more helpful things we wrote more and more up to 500-600 words. Though some of my posts on the blog were longer but I don’t think anyone noticed that. I find it easier now to write 700-800 word entries though I do have to shorten them down a tad to make sure it’s near the limitation. Word choice for me was a bit difficult since I like to type, type, type and not look up to get it done and fast. Though when we started this I found that because I did that I could take advantage of that and just type till the end then find words that I could improve.

I think that the skills that I have learned  will help me in the future in situations where I have to proof read a students work in L.A next year. We did a lot of that in the seventh grade and I thought it was very difficult to understand why we had to do that but during eighth grade I got why we did. To hone in on our own ability to identify different sentences and what words we could use instead of simple ones. I think that this will possibly help me in the future when I want to an ad maker. If you think about it an ad has to have 2 things about it to attract someone’s eye. Number one is that it has to be bright and colorful just not too much so it will hurt their eyes and two is it must make sense because I was on facebook a few days ago and saw a group that said “Let’s eat Grandma, Let’s eat, Grandma. Punctuation saves lives’ and you know what? They are right because wrong punctuation can send out the wrong meaning to everyone you want to tell something about.

G-G-G-G- THAT’S ALL FOLKS! Have a great day and drive safe!

All About Need! by Carrie Jones

Written on May 16, 2010 – 8:52 pm | by llama320

Okay so for today I will be talking or really typing about the characters of “Need” by Carrie Jones, which I told you I would be doing today. On my last blog we talked about the basic plot of “Need” and the main character Zara. So today we will be talking about the rest of the characters and the first character I will talk about is Nick Colt, Zara’s love interest. Nick and Zara first meet in the driveway of their high school and Zara’s first impression isn’t too great. Considering that Nick cuts Zara off in the parking lot with his “beautiful red MINI Cooper” (pg 21) which Zara loves. After that incident she sees him jump out “…with the grace that only really good jocks have and lands on an ice path without slipping at all.” (pg 21&22) and then he notices her. Zara’s heart stops then starts again beating harder. He strides over to her until she can see the deep brown irises in his eyes. She felt invaded so she takes a step back but slips and Nick grabs her elbow and says “’Be careful. It’s wicked slippery here,’…a smile across leaking his face.” (pg 22) Sofrom this passage you can tell that Zara isn’t used to ice and Nick and she seems to have a “thing” for him, if you know what I mean *wink*.

Nick then takes Zara to the office to get her schedule and there she meets our next two characters Megan Crowley, the rude, bossy girl everyone hates and Ms. Nix, the kind school secretary. Megan has strawberry blonde hair and is a runner but Ms. Nix is “older” and has gray hair. Ms. Nix asks Megan to show Zara around but she rudely states that she is doing the announcements and so Ms. Nix sends our next main character, Ian, out to help Zara. He is very tall and has long limbs; he looks at Zara “appraisingly” and shows her off to her next classes. Zara finds out that Ian is, let’s say for the sake of time, a really good runner, then they run in to Nick, who Ian isn’t too fond of, Ian says that Nick is bad news. Ian is also in a lot of clubs and says if she wants to join he’ll get her in ASAP, though Zara thinks that Ian is an overachiever he says that “‘There’s no point in blending in, you know? Got to grab the power where you can.’ … ‘That sounds awful. I just mean… you’ve got to do what you can to get ahead, to get into college, that stuff.’” (pg 28) But what Zara doesn’t know is the dark, dark truth behind these words.

The next character that Zara meets is Issie, the bubbly, exciting, and funny friend who takes her to P.E, their next class. When they meet Zara sees a girl with wild brownish hair and her Hello Kitty T-shirt bags off her shoulders. When changed and ready they find out that they are to run the mile which Issie isn’t too happy but Zara, a great runner, is ecstatic. They line up and then she meets Devyn, he’s in a wheelchair so doesn’t run but when he introduces himself, he shows his movie star smile all white teeth and charisma! He has dark skin, big eyes, and a large nose though ugly on others fits him perfectly, natural and powerful, then winks at Issie, who then in return blushes. They start flirting with each other which Zara thinks is so adorable and she immediately likes Devyn, she can sense the “goodness” flowing out of him and how much he really cares for Issie. Well those are the characters, interesting, no? This is Maham singing of tune in next time for another great blog. Not sure which book but I know it will be very good and interesting … well to me at least, GOODBYE!

‘Need’ by Carrie Jones

Written on May 9, 2010 – 7:55 pm | by llama320

Hey there everyone who reads my blog! So I haven’t written a blog post/ entry in a while but I am now. May 7th was my youngest brothers birthday so shout out to Sameer, we love you bud! He is now six years old and we went out that day and I saw a book I had been meaning to write about but haven’t had the chance up until now. That book is ‘Need’ by Carrie Jones which is a very, very interesting book. Every chapter starts out with a phobia which is quite intriguing and it is like you are getting a little more knowledge at the beginning of each chapter. That knowledge can be used real life because, from what we know today, there aren’t really ‘fairies’, ‘pixies’, ‘vampires’ or ‘were’s’. Though it would be very cool and extremely interesting as well, well the main character thinks so.

Our story starts out knowing that out main character, Zara White, is kind of ‘obsessed’ with knowing phobias and what they mean. She started this because her stepfather taught her that if you can name your fear, you can overcome it/them. This book isn’t all about phobias it’s just a way that the book ‘Need’ by Carrie Jones starts but the real plot is about a creature that you would never think you would have to fear. The twist is very interesting because it isn’t quite as predictable as some books these days are which are one reason of why I love the book ‘Need’.

There are many things about this book is that are interesting especially the fact that the creatures that you thought were all happy and sparkly are now the evil bloodsuckers. Those hairy beasts that are alive at a full moon are now the protectors of humans from the real beasts. Since the sides are flipped the stories plot gets intriguing and pulls the reader into the effect that the book has on you. Now that I have talked I little about the creatures in this book, I should really tell all of you about the our main character, Ms. Zara White. Zara, like I have said before, collect fears the way people collect stamps and that isn’t the problem, shes pretty much scared of everything. What the main problem for our main character is though, is that her mother has shipped her off to the freezing state of Maine. “Zara’s mother, worried for her, sends Zara to live with her grandmother, believing that Zara will be safer in that cold and isolated state of Maine.”

Now Zara isn’t too fond of the cold and misses Charleston, but it turns out that this guy is “semi-stalking” her and he’s here… in Maine. The weird thing is that he leaves little golden dust trails behind him and she wants to figure out why… is it a psychopaths mark or a sign for her? Well since they tell you this on the blurb at the back I might as well too. The man that is stalking her is…really… a pixie! But wait, hold up. He’s not the cute little fluff ball of glitter… Oh no! He is quite the opposite, he is drawn to Zara, by a sick…disgusting need. Hence the name of the book ‘Need’ because fairies are all drawn by this need to humans and it isn’t a nice need either.

Well, I have given you all this average bunch of information on the book ‘Need’ by Carrie Jones but I don’t think I gave you enough. Next time what I want to do is tell you more about this book and the characters. The plot is gripping and suspenseful and Jones leaves on a cliffhanger a lot but I still loved it a lot. The fact that the book incorporates the four genres of; mystery, fantasy, danger, and romance is really interesting and it lures the reader in and makes them feel like they cannot set the book down. There is also a second book called “Captivate” and though I haven’t read it yet my friends and reviews online say that it is very good, though they prefer the first book. So stay tuned for my next post ‘All About Need.’ Coming soon to a computer near you!

J.K Rowling

Written on April 25, 2010 – 7:38 pm | by llama320

Well, I am really very sorry that I haven’t posted a post in a while but I hope you guys are still reading. I am so very happy that I have now have 125 visits! Our assignment this week was to do a poem of any kind on our topic. My topic is J.K. Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, so here goes nothing.

Rowling

We all know her

And we all can see

Her and her books

All over TV

Shes very famous

Her books are over

Or so we think

This is Ms. Rowling

I thought that she was

A he and found out

That I was very

Wrong.

The books are very

Amazing, awesome

And so much more

I could barely say

Magic, mischief, and much more

But from where did she

Hail, do you know, well?

So here we shall go.

Her parents were Peter

And an Anne Rowling

She also had a sis

She was Dianne

Rowling loved to read

She also loved to write

When she was younger

She would read to Di

Jessica Mitford

Was inspiration

For the young Rowling

She loved Ms. Mitford

Her mother had died

When she was writing

Harry Potter books

She didn’t even tell her.

When Rowling moved to

Porto, Portugal

She met her husband

And they got married

They had one child

Jessica Isabel Rowling Arantes

A long name indeed

But after that was sadness

The couple split and

 J.K took Jessica

Rowling was very

Depressed and thinking

OF SUICIDE!

But came up with, Dementors

Some say that her

 Characters were based

On real life, but the

Question is, do you?

She wrote seven books

But what we wonder

Is if she will add

More to the series

We all know her

And we all can see

Her and her books

All over TV

I hope you all enjoyed my little poem about Ms. Rowling and if you did please comment below! I would love to hear from all of you guys, whether it’s a good comment or bad comment, it is still a comment! Thank you so much!

Top Ten Best Books of all time for Teens and Uglies by Scott Westerfield

Written on March 14, 2010 – 8:45 pm | by llama320

Oh! Hey there you guys! Okay back on topic which for today is… THE BEST BOOKS OF ALL TIME FOR TEENS!!!!  So the top ten are:

  1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
  2. Harry Potter Box-set Books 1-7 by J.K. Rowling
  3. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
  4. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
  5. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
  6. Uglies by Scott Westerfield
  7. New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
  8. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
  9. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
  10. Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

Out of these 10 books how many have you read? So to start off we will talk about the book “Uglies” by Scott Westerfield. It is an amazing book which I love very much and left a lasting impact on me as well. If I could only just use one sentence on it then I think that this next sentence would have to be that one. Just before their sixteenth birthdays, when they will be transformed into beauties/”pretties” whose only job is to have a great time and look beautiful/pretty, Tally Youngblood’s new friend, Shay, runs away, since Shay believes that it’s very, very wrong to be turned in to a pretty adn it is also done for all the wrong reasons, and Tally Youngblood must find her and turn her in, or never become pretty at all.” Well as you now know the main characters name is Tally Youngblood (odd, yes I know…) but I find it very cute and it suits her.

The way that Tally Youngblood is described in Wikipedia is “Tally Youngblood has frizzy brown hair, brown eyes and a patchy complexion with a wide forehead and squinty eyes and a wide nose and thin lips. She notes to her best friend, Shay, that she likes the left side of her face more than the right. These imperfections are common to all Uglies, and are imperfections that exist on any human being. However, due to the different cultural norms, they are exaggerated in the books. As an Ugly, Tally Youngblood is rebellious but carefree, save for her anxiousness about the inevitable operation.”  Well, as most of you can guess since it says that Tally Youngblood as an Ugly that she must automatically turn into a pretty once she turns 16, which is in the second “Uglies” book “Pretties.” So that’s all for now I hope you all enjoyed my little blog about “Uglies”, please come back next time for the next amazing book I will talk about and stuff…..

PS: HEY YOU! YES YOU! Want to know what will be my next topic for my blog?!?!?! Well… if you’re still here and reading I will tell you it is… Memoirs of a teenage Amnesiac, really amazing book MUST, MUST, MUST READ!

Dr. Suess & why I love him!

Written on March 12, 2010 – 1:37 pm | by llama320

Doesn’t anyone remember the good old days when we used think Dr. Seuss was the best author and couldn’t get enough of him? Well, I want to reminisce about those days and go back to a few books those books that we can name today! “Cat in the Hat”, “Horton Hears a Who! Can You?”, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” “Mr. Brown can Moo! Can You?” and many others! My brother, Sameer’s loves to read the raining sound (dibble dibble, dibble dibble, dopp dopp dopp).  The twins also love to listen to Sameer reading and so my mother is cooking she might also listen in once a while. My mother will giggle when Sameer makes a silly mistake when reading the books.  After Sam finishes reading to us, he takes a bow, and says thank you like the little gentlemen we know and love! Speaking of gentlemen may I please take a moment to talk just about how great Mr. Theodore Geisel or as his pen name “Dr. Seuss.” “He was born on March 2nd, 1904, which would have made him 105 years old today. It’s really hard to believe that the Dr. Seuss brand has been around for almost 100 years. Of course the brand wasn’t created until 20 years after he was born, but that the spark was even created almost 100 years ago is amazing.” Wow! Dr. Seuss is really cool and there actually some videos that bring him up. One of my favorites is a video made by a hilarious YouTuber named “nigahiga” and the link to his video is right here… à NigaHiga-Rant on Music (Remade) Some of the other story by Dr. Seuss would be “The Sneetches” which happily got made in to a cartoon and was aired on television. Dr. Seuss Animation “The Sneetches” Part 1 and Dr. Seuss Animation “The Sneetches” Part 2 are the two parts that are part of “The Sneetches” which is a very funny little skit about these creatures called Sneetches that live and play on beaches. There are two types of Sneetches; the plain Sneetches and the star-bellied Sneetches. The story goes on to describe how the star-bellied Sneetches exclude the plain Sneetches. This story has a moral that do not exclude people if they don’t have something, even if your friends do. Well, that’s all folks, good bye!

Key:

Simple sentence

Compound Sentence

Complex Sentence

P.S: Hey you! Yes, YOU! Want to know what I will talk to about my next post?! YEAH! Well, then you’ll have to stick around!!!! Check out my blog on Monday, March 14, 2010!!!! ;) I got you didn’t I!!!!! YAY! :D

Twilight. What does Llama320 think?

Written on February 27, 2010 – 2:58 pm | by llama320
Ok, so first you have Twilight (hand holding) apple, New Moon (red & white flower with a drop of blood), Eclipse (teared red ribbon), and Breaking Dawn (with the chess pieces). All of which are written by the amazing, the talented, and the awesome, Stephenie Meyer!

Okay so here are the books of the Twilight Saga!

(Left to Right) Alice and Jasper, Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle, Rosalie and Emmett, Bella and Edward, Laurent, James and Victioria

(Left to Right) Alice and Jasper, Mr. and Mrs. Carlisle, Rosalie and Emmett, Bella and Edward, Laurent, James and Victioria

Ok well I was waiting for a while until I could dig into these really good books that have been captivating all ages, all skin colors, and men and women! Here readers of my lovely blog (just kidding.., or am I?) we have my review of “The Twilight Saga” by Stephanie Meyer! Okay so yes, I have finished him whole series but I will do my best not to try and spoil anything about the other books. This entry I will be talking about Twilight and a little bit about Twilight the movie.Well to me the books were actually really good even though they get A LOT of critism and I am not talking about the constructive kind either. But I think that Twilight was really interesting and alluring and to all the people who say that the way Meyer describes Edward or other vampires in the book is WAY too descriptive. I think that the way she describes would be more of a Dickens’ style in his book “A Christmas Carol.” If you do not know the book, which I highly doubt you don’t, it is the book with the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come/ Future and has been made into many different versions.

Getting off topic, so I’m pretty sure that most of you have heard the basic story, but if you haven’t, the main character, Bella Swan, is off to Forks, Washington to see her dad. Ever since the divorce her mom has re-married and her dad is still by himself but when Bella comes to Forks and heads to her school. Even though Bella was an outcast in her old school it seems like the complete opposite which is a bit overwhelming and she becomes good friends with the “popular” group. When at lunch, she notices him, “…lanky, less bulky, with untidy, bronze-colored hair.” pg 16 She instantly grows interest in their little group. She meets him for the first time on the same day in her Biology class and must sit next to him for that is the only seat left. When Bella is seated next to Edward in class on her first day of school, Edward seems repulsed by her. He disappears for a few days, but seems to like Bella a little when he comes back; their newfound relationship reaches a climax when Bella is nearly run over by a fellow classmate’s van in the school parking lot. Seemingly defying the laws of physics, Edward saves her life when he instantaneously appears next to her and stops the van with his bare hands. Bella becomes determined to find out how Edward saved her life, and always bothering him with questions. After Jacob Black, her family friend tells her the local tribal legends, against his will; Bella concludes that Edward and his family are vampires who drink animal blood rather than human. Edward confesses that he initially avoided Bella because the scent of her blood was too desirable to him. Over time, Edward and Bella fall in love. Their relationship is disturbed when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks. James, a tracker vampire who is intrigued by the Cullen’s’ relationship with a human, wants to hunt Bella for sport. What happens next, will Bella and Edward live “happily ever after”? Will Bella be lost forever from Edward? Or will Edward go? Need to the book people if you ever want to find out!

To me the movie was actually pretty good Kristen Stewart (Bella) and Robert Pattinson (Edward) did a very good job at their characters and really catching the essence of Bella and Edward. Taylor Lautner’s character, Jacob, was an AMAZING character! I really loved his acting and him as well! Jacob is not really known until the next book, New Moon.  She seeks comfort in her deepening friendship with Jacob, a cheerful companion who eases her pain over… Well if you want to know what comes after the … you will have to read the book! I’ve had a great time writing this post and next time I will be reviewing another good book that I have read one time or another and I hope all of you liked it!

The first book in the Gilda Joyce series is “Psychic Investigator” and you might also notice the tower where Gilda and Juliet’s Aunt apparently "fell" off the top of the tower or as others say committed suicide... Who's telling the truth? Well, you will just have to read the book to find out!

Hi again (but if this is your first time visiting my blog then “Hi!”) So this is my second blog post which is exciting but I really am hoping to get some more views on my blog so check weekly! Now I will introduce you to my next “enthralling” series of books. Has anyone out there heard of the “Gilda Joyce” series? If you have finished the series then what are you doing here?! Go read some more books, but if you haven’t heard of or read it all then please continue. In the first book of the series “Gilda Joyce: Psychic Investigator” we learn that Gilda has lost her father and is living with her mother and vexatious older brother Stephen. She loves her old typewriter (a gift from my father), her best friend, Wendy Choy, wearing disguises, wigs (all kinds), shoes with stiletto heels, Ouija boards, people-watching, creative writing, and cats eye sunglasses. Thirteen years old Gilda Joyce, a self-claimed psychic investigator, is going to San Francisco to visit a newly discovered distant and rich uncle, Lester Splinter and his daughter, Juliet. Juliet is a frail, skinny, and solitary girl who is also.

Gilda also learns that she had an aunt in San Francisco who was quite aberrant and who also “fell” out of the uncouth tower in the same house Juliet lives in which gives Gilda  even more reason. Gilda tries a frivolous attempt at letting her mother leave town to visit these relatives of hers and avails to her delectation. As Gilda heads to this unfamiliar town expecting sunshine and flowers but gets the adverse and experiences rain and gloom. Juliet isn’t that joyful to see Gilda but as Juliet gets used to Gilda she starts to open up and tells her somethings that happened to her and what her aunt was like. Gilda decides that the only way to contact their ”suicide-commiting” aunt would be to go to the place were she “fell”. The tower… But the only problem is that they are forbidden from entering the tower against Mr. Splinter’s decision. Another reson they both have to go there wouldbe that since their aunt spent most of her time in that spine-chilling tower. Who knows what their aunt did up in that odd tower? Will we ever find out? Do Gilda and Juliet actually listen to Lester adn not go up to the tower? Do they succeed in finding out the reason between their aunt’s so called “suicide”?   Is the atrocious house really haunted? Well, the answer to all of these questions will be answered in the book Gilda Joyce: Psychic Investigator! So what are you waiting for go to your local  library and go buy or borrow it and start reading this astounding book!!!!!!!

Warm and Imaginitive “Princess”/Butt-Kicking Girl Superspy, which would you read first?

Written on February 13, 2010 – 9:47 pm | by llama320
EduBlogs Entry 1

Well hi there! Right now you are on my blog, well, of course and this is my first time blogging and I’m sorry if the first entry is not that great but I promise you, as time progresses I will get better. I would truly love it if you made some suggestions as well so that I could become a better blogger! As most of you probably known my blog will be all about books since I am a MAJOR book worm and I am proud. I f you love books then stay and read my blog and give me some other books that I c0uld talk about and please comment if you have read the books I mention on my blog. So right now I am reading a couple of books called “Bog Child” it is a murder/mystery, I am also reading “The Little Princess” and I have just finished it! It is about a young rich girl named Sara Crewe who has a very big imagination. She has lived all around the globe and is very fluent in Hindi language since she lived in India for the majority of her young life. Her father is sent to India for “urgent business” and he cannot take Sara with him so he sends her to the “Select Seminary for Young Ladies.” Which is run by the mean and menacing, Miss Minchin, who does not like Sara at all but only, takes her in for the sake of money. At the school or “seminary” Sara meets many girls at the school and made friends with Ermengarde, a chubby but very kind young girl who struggles in school but get helps from Sara, Lottie, a toddler just learning how to speak and has Sara become her adopted mother for both of their “mammas” have died and Sara teaches Lottie many things, and finally Becky the servant girl who doesn’t speak English very well and finds Sara quite fascinating, like all the other little girls, but the others always treat Becky like dirt even though she doesn’t deserve it at all, all along the book Becky and Sara become very close. As the story progresses Sara  finds out that she will never see her father again but must learn to cope and learn things she never even thought of before in her wildest imaginations, and she has a very big and wild imagination. But onto other one of my favorite books of an amazing girl “Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City

Another one of my favorite books, “Kiki Strike: Inside the Shadow City” is amazing and on the back of the book there is one sentence, and do not tell me that this does not draw you in as a reader, “Five delinquent Girl Scouts, a million hungry rats, one secret city beneath Manhattan, and a butt-kicking girl superspy- welcome to the world of Kiki Strike.” The book is told from Ananka Fishbein’s point of view; she is a young girl who attends a school called Atlanta and lives in a small apartment with her parents, of whom cram books on every imaginable subject in every unimaginable space. Besides narrating the series, Ananka also writes the interesting sidebars found at the end of each chapter, which teach useful skills. This one sentence can perfectly describe Kiki Strike “Who is Kiki Strike? Good question. Here’s all you need to know right now . . . She’s the founder of the Irregulars–a band of delinquent girl geniuses who protect the forgotten tunnels beneath Manhattan that are known as the Shadow City. She’s fluent in a dozen languages, she can break into any building, and she’s been known to kick butts twice the size of hers. (You’ve got to be tough when you’re 4’10.) And like any girl mastermind worth her salt, there’s a series of books devoted to her bizarre adventures.” Some of the other characters Betty Bent; a master mind at disguises and no one has ever seen her in her real form… until now, Luz Lopez; a mastermind at inventions and is great friends with DeeDee Morlock; who is a mastermind at chemistry like her father but as Kiki says “She puts her father to shame.” Our last but definetly not least we have Oona Wong;

“‘Oona is the best hacker in Manhattan” said Kiki
